Dates for your Diaries
Perris Indoor League:
JDAC will be looking to enter a team in the Perris indoor league again this year. For those who have not had an experience of this before, it is open to all junior archers and involves shooting 30 arrows at a 60cm target at 20 yards, with six sighting arrows beforehand. Scores will then be collected by Melody Shaw and forwarded on to the league organisers at the end of every month. You may shoot the round as many times in the month as you would like. The three highest scores will be selected for the team each month. The Robin Hood Country Show:
This will be taking place on Trinity Park over the weekend of the 15th and 16th of October. It is anticipated that as usual Deben Archery Club will run a have a go event over the course of the weekend, that will broadly follow the same pattern as the recent event for the Queen's birthday in Kesgrave for those who were able to attend that. As usual any offers of assistance over the course of the weekend would be very much appreciated. Please email us here and indicate whether you would be able to do Saturday AM or PM or Sunday AM or PM or any combination of these that you would like. As usual the roles will be assisting with the shooting (coaches and senior club archers only) taking money, collecting arrows, setting up the range and taking down at the end of the weekend, transportation of the kit to and fro to Trinity Park etc. As usual families of our archers are most welcome, and we should be able to arrange free entry to the show for those who are able to assist with the have a go stand.Braintree Bowmen 3D Field Shoot - Gosfield School (Essex) - Sunday 20th November
If you've not yet entered for this competition I would urge you to do so. Entering is easy via the Braintree Bowman website. It is only £10 for the whole day competition and is enormous fun. I will be attending and hope to see as many of you there as possible! And finally… Welcoming new archers to JDAC:
Some of you may be aware we are currently running a new beginners course. This will finish on Saturday, 17 September. From Saturday 24th September we will be inviting our newest members to come along to the regular JDAC session. Please do look out for them and make them feel welcome!Old dates to be archived
